Guilds

TERA Guilds

What Is a Guild?
A guild is, in essence, a large group of people who have banded together to play, but are also working towards a larger goal. Being part of a guild is not only an easy way to keep track of your friends and have a pool of people you know to play with, but guilds also play an integral part in TERA's alliance system.

How to Create a Guild
Forming a guild is fairly simple. The minimum requirements are two people in a group, a party leader who is at least level eight and has 30 silver in inventory. The party leader should speak to the Guild Manager NPC in Velika, located in the southeast corner of the Plaza of the Huntress. The party leader will choose the guild's name, and become its first guildmaster.

Managing Your Guild
A Guild leader can review applications to the guild (/gapply guildname sends a request), remove members, upgrade the guild so that it may participate in high level activities, and manage the guild bank.

Guild Logo

A guild leader can upload a .BMP image (must be exactly 64x64 pixels) to represent their guild to the world at large. This logo will display next to the name and title (if any) of a character in-game, and can be changed by an NPC in Velika.

Guild Rank
Guild leaders can create and name any number of ranks within their guild through the guild interface (/g). These ranks can each have different permissions and abilities within the guild, like full access to the guild bank, the ability to invite other players to join the guild (/ginvite in the chat window), and the option to change the guild's daily message.

Guild Bank

Once you join a guild, you'll not only have access to a group of friends, but the guild bank as well. It functions just like your personal bank, but the rest of your guild can contribute as well. Anyone can deposit any non-soulbound item (crafting materials, crystals, spare equipment, and more), but the guildmaster controls who can and cannot make withdrawals.

Guild Quests
From message boards in cities and towns, members of a guild can accept special, guild-only quests. These quests do not award experience on completion, but instead give between one and four Catharnach Awards. These quests are designed to complement, not replace the zone and story quests in the same area. As you complete more of a zone, more guild quests will open up. The quests are level dependent: If you have a high-level player in your party you will not be able to advance certain guild quests.

Guild Levels
There are three different levels for TERA guilds.

Level 1: This is the default level for any guild
Level 2: To graduate to this level, a guild must spend 20 Catharnach Awards.
Level 3: To graduate to this level, a guild must first be Level 2, and then spend an additional 50 Catharnach Awards
Higher level guilds must either extend or upgrade their level every two weeks by spending additional Catharnach Awards, or they will revert to Level 1.

Why Should I Join a Guild?
Guilds are not just a convenient group of other characters, they are a resource designed to enhance and prolong your gaming experience. Shared resources are only one part of the equation—shared knowledge and experiences are equally important, as well as the more direct rewards of networking and relationship and teamwork building.

Benefits of Guild Membership
Members of a Level 2 or higher guild can use Catharnach Awards to purchase and use special items from vendors in major cities. These items are useful in both PvE and PvP situations.

Guild members can participate in TERA’s alliance system, some even becoming echelons for their alliance. Guild leaders can aspire to exarch or one of the commander positions.

TERA Alliance
Guilds can participate in special guild-vs-guild battles. Once declared, for up to 24 hours, the competing guilds can "kill" each other on sight anywhere PvP is enabled. A guild can be involved in up to three such battles at one time.
